In a change of course, this year’s edition of the Skal Alpen Golf Challenge is set to embrace the scenic beauty of Engadine, where the alpine air meets the allure of the golfing greens. The event, initially planned for the Lake Constance area, takes a detour to Engadine, returning to the birthplace of its inaugural edition in Switzerland back in 2019. The Challenge has embarked on a journey that traversed the heart of the main alpine countries: Italy in 2020, Germany in 2021, and Austria in 2022. Now, the circle commences its second rotation, revisiting its origins.
Anticipation is building for this intimate yet exuberant gathering of Skalleagues, along with their partners and friends, who are set to revel in the spirit of camaraderie. The Skal Alpen Golf Challenge uniquely melds the conviviality of social interaction with the competitive edge of a golf tournament.
The primary objective is to foster a diverse guest list representing all the alpine countries. Each Skal member is wholeheartedly invited, regardless of their point of origin. Sunday, 24th September 2023:
- Individual Arrival and Check-In: Participants gather at the elegant Hotel Edelweiss & Post in Sils-Maria for check-in. The tranquil Via da Marias 63 is set to be the starting point of a remarkable journey.
- 7 pm: Get Together Cocktail and Dinner at Hotel Post: As the sun dips behind the Engadine peaks, a convivial get-together awaits the participants. Hotel Post plays host to an evening of shared camaraderie over cocktails and a sumptuous dinner, accompanied by an array of table beverages.
Monday, 25th September 2023:
- From 10 am: Golf Tournament on the Championship Course in Samedan: The heart of the event is unveiled on the beautifully manicured 18-hole championship golf course in Samedan. Participants will vie for supremacy amidst the breathtaking alpine backdrop.
- Horse Carriage Ride and Lunch in Fex Valley for Non-Golfers: For those opting out of the golf tournament, a horse carriage ride coupled with a delectable lunch in the stunning Fex Valley promises a day of equally enchanting experiences.
- 6.30 pm: Cocktail and Prize-Giving Ceremony: The day’s play culminates in a spirited cocktail affair, followed by the prize-giving ceremony. The triumphs of the golfing green will be celebrated with heartfelt cheers.
- Dinner in the Heritage-Protected Art Nouveau Hall at Hotel Edelweiss: An evening of elegance is scripted with dinner in the Heritage-protected Art Nouveau Hall at Hotel Edelweiss. An assortment of table beverages will enhance the culinary journey.
Tuesday, 26th September 2023:
- Check-Out or Extend Your Stay: As the event draws to a close, participants bid adieu or extend their stay to further savor the allure of Engadine.
