Skål Prague 30th Anniversary

Skål Prague Celebrates 30 Years

A European Invitation to a Weekend of Friendship and Elegance

In the autumn of 2025, as the leaves turn golden in the heart of Europe, Skål International Prague will celebrate a remarkable milestone: thirty years of connecting tourism professionals in one of the most historic and captivating cities of the continent. On Saturday, 18 October 2025, members and friends of Skål are warmly invited to gather in the Czech capital to honour the legacy, growth, and enduring spirit of one of Central Europe’s most pioneering clubs.

Founded in 1995, Skål Prague holds the distinction of being the first Skål Club established in a former communist country. Its birth marked not only the expansion of Skål International into new territory but also a symbolic bridge between East and West in a newly united Europe. The foundation of the club was made possible thanks to the support of Skål Vienna, and its inauguration was honoured by the presence of Mario Rehulka, then President of Skål International and Chairman of the Board of Vienna International Airport.

Since that moment, Skål Prague has become a dynamic player in the global network, hosting monthly lunches, summer garden events, and festive celebrations that have consistently upheld the values of the organisation: professionalism, friendship, and international cooperation.

To commemorate this important anniversary, Skål Prague has chosen one of the city’s most prestigious venues—the neo-baroque Boccaccio Ballroom of the Grand Hotel Bohemia. This architectural jewel, rich in imperial elegance and atmosphere, will provide a fitting backdrop for an evening dedicated to honouring the past while looking confidently toward the future. The anniversary gala will bring together members of Skål from across Europe and beyond, offering a unique opportunity to reconnect in an environment of cultural splendour and warm hospitality.

What makes this event especially compelling for Skål members across the continent is the location itself. Prague is not only a cultural treasure but also one of the most accessible and centrally located capitals in Europe. With direct flights from over 150 cities and excellent rail and highway connections, the Czech capital is an ideal meeting point for professionals travelling from all corners of the continent. The timing of the event—a Saturday evening in mid-October—makes it perfectly suited for a weekend trip, inviting guests to discover or rediscover the charm, culture, and vibrancy of this unique European city.

Skål International, born in Paris in 1934, owes its name to the Scandinavian toast “Skål”, a word that has come to symbolise good health, long life, happiness, and friendship. The Prague club embodies that very ethos, and its 30th anniversary is not only a celebration of local achievement but also a call to the broader Skål community to come together, raise a glass, and continue building bridges through tourism.

As the evening draws near, members from across Europe are encouraged to save the date, make their travel plans, and be part of this exceptional moment. In a world where the human connection behind travel matters more than ever, events like this serve as a powerful reminder of what Skål truly represents: doing business among friends.
